Starting From The Urban Survival

The article first analyzes the impact of China’s urbanization on people and the changes of people’s values caused by the change of our living environment. Also as an urbanite, the printer demonstrates his spontaneous interest on the urban theme. Then combed urban theme printings at all times and in all countries. All these works have their own respective characteristics of the times. Both in our country and abroad, with the development of social economy and the urbanization, the artist has changed his interest from urban city to urban people. As an urban artist in Shanghai, he is actually concerning about the city life and the living conditions of people here. It’s being a great try for him to represent urban theme by engraving. Finally the printer has made plenty of researches on the theme of screen printing performances during the whole creation process. The exploration includes the techniques, materials, forms, etc..., and it is applied to the graduation creation. At the end of the thesis, the printer has written down the practical creation skills of undergraduate and graduate stages, in order to prove the possibilities of the silkscreen printings on the theme of urban exploration by practical results.
