| With the progress of globalization, interpretation is widely applied in many occasions, such as press conferences, seminars, foreign affairs, business negotiations, etc. More and more practices contribute to the development of interpreting theories. However whatever the theory develops, it should be practice-oriented, which means the theory can be abstract, metaphysical or “pureâ€; it will serve for the high efficiency and high quality of practices in the final analysis. As a student of MTI, more practices in various occasions are needed. Temporally “interpretive theory†is a guiding theory applied in interpretation practices that enables the interpreters flexibly deal with the source language. Since the theory derives from conference interpreting, this report selects Mo Yan’s press conference of 2012 Nobel Prize in Literature as a practicing material. This report completely records the whole process of the practice, including pre-interpretation, both linguistic and extra-linguistic; during interpreting process, which contains role-play and division of attention; case study after interpretation with reflection followed. The main method in this practice is simulating the real scene, recording and analyzing. Through the practice, the author has a direct felling and understanding about the theory and acknowledges the importance of “deverbalization†in interpreting. The author summaries several applicable tactics and the essential attitude an interpreter should have toward interpretation practices. However there still exist problems of the author in grammar or tedious expression, which requires endless practices in the future. |
