Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757), known as "the father of modern piano playing techniques", left more than 500 keyboard pieces for later generations, presenting variety styles of pre-classical keyboard works and promoting evolution of keyboard playing techniques. Scarlatti’s first publishing was 30 Esserc’ izi per gravicembalo, which made him enjoy quite a reputation at that time as a late bloomer. This set of work is endowed with various themes and rich changes, in particular difficulty in techniques with significant jump, crossing hands and rapidly repeating the sound.In this paper, Esserc’ izi Per Gravicembalo of Scarlatti is taken as the research object, for this group of works reflects the major characteristics of its keyboard music, with unique and attractive acoustics, and moreover, the author has played this set of works for the majority of time in recent years, and gained some experience of playing Scarlatti sonatas on modern pianos. The keyboard music of Scarlatti is of great value for the performance and teaching of the modem piano. This paper attempts to display some basic characteristics of this group of works through the observation in a restricted view. |
