A Study Of The Current National Leaders Speech Interpretation Strategies From The Perspective Of The Interpretive Theory

With the deepening of reform and opening up policy, and the rapid development of economy, China’s international status has been improved continuously, the communication between our country and the rest of the countries in the field of politics, economy, culture and so on is increasing frequently. Interpretation is the communicating bridge between China and other countries. Therefore, interpretation plays a very important role.For interpreters, interpretation is not just a kind of work, and its also a bridge of transferring two languages.Therefore, interpretation requires a lot to the interpreter, the related researches on interpretation are also gradually stepping into the higher area. This thesis is based on Danica Seleskovitch’s interpretive theories, and combines our chairman Xi’s partial abroad speeches in 2013, to analyze and explore more national leaders speech interpretation strategies.Because our national leaders have its unique characteristics in their speeches, so there are higher requirements for all aspects of the interpreters, which include: mastering Chinese and Russian, mastering the encyclopedic knowledge, besides, they should also have good psychological quality and high degree of political sensitivity.Because that the leaders’ speeches often involve the interests of their country, which possess strong political stance, all of these characteristics require that the interpreter understand accurately the intention of the speakers in the process of translation, neither exaggerate nor shrink, to ensure that the translation should be faithful to the speaker’s intention.In the process of interpreting, to achieve the purpose of faithfulness, the interpreter usually adopt the methods of integration main points, semantic explanation, syntactic transformation and logical processing.These translation strategies can be referred by interpretation learners.
