| The author discusses the procedure of interpretation and how the interpretation task can be successfully completed based on the escort interpretation experience of the author in the 2014 Qingdao International Horticulture Exposition from March to September. Sharing the problems that occurred during the interpretation and the solutions towards them, the author is wishfully hoping that the cases can contribute to the field of exhibition interpretation and tourism interpretation.The thesis is composed of four chapters. The first chapter is a description of the task. The author gives a brief introduction to the International Horticulture Exposition and 2014 Qingdao International Horticulture Exposition and also describes the interpretation task from three aspects: the requirement of the client, characteristics of the interpretation task and the linguistic features of the text. The second chapter is the description of the procedure, which includes the pre-task preparation, interpretation procedure and feedback of the clients. Chapter three mainly highlights three kinds of problems: problems of language transformation, culture-related problems and problems in other aspects. The last chapter is the conclusion and introspection, with a focus on the linguistic abilities and comprehensive qualities that interpreters should improve in their further study and practice. |
