| China Central Television(CCTV) and Japan Broadcasting Corporation(NHK) invested in jointly and cooperated with each other sufficiently to shoot the large-scale documentary film “Silk Roadâ€(Chinese section) in 1979. Whether in Japan or in China, “Silk Road†have caused unprecedented broadcast sensation. After a lapse of 26 years, NHK raised the idea of re-shooting the Silk Road once again. As an opportunity to CCTV and NHK, the production and broadcasting organization of the two TV stations join hands again and re-take the Silk Road(China section) to shoot “the New Silk Roadâ€(Chinese section) cooperatively, which is a large series of documentaries. The 2005 version of “the New Silk Road†is the re-examination after 26 years, the same theme of the film and two cooperation.Two editions of “the New Silk Road†had the substantially similar episodes and content, the video of the two production agencies also presented new features.In this paper, “the New Silk Roadâ€as a sample in CCTV and NHK two versions, the author using relevant Narrative Television deals narrative theory method, from the narrative perspective, narrative language, narrative features and other aspects of the t wo editions of “the New Silk Road†comparative analysis. The author compared the t wo editions of “the New Silk Road†from the themes, characters, content, form of und erstanding and aesthetic and combined the different cultural perspectives from differe nt ethnic groups and different culture to interpret and examine carefully.In addition, w e can snoop the influence from different culture in China and Japan on the documenta ry creation and the different performance of documentary.
