The Experimental On The Tones Of Study Of Xi He Dialect

Xi He County locates in the southeast of Gansu Province, the south of Long Nan City, belonging to the Qin Long fraction of Central Plains Mandarin. With some traditional research, scholars get some results. They conclude some basic characters of on citation tone form both perspectives of synchronic and diachronic. However there is no study about the bi-syllable tone of Xi he Dialect. Given this, this paper will analysis monosyllabic tone and bi-syllable tone patterns by experimental method in order to get a comprehensive and deep understanding of Xi He Dialect. There are five parts in this paper.The first part is introduction including geography 、population and history、current study on Chinese tone、the belonging of Xi He Dialect、dialect phonological and the Xi He Dialect situation.The second part pay attention to study object、method 、research programme and influence. Research programme consist selective letter table、selective pronunciation partner、recording environment and speech analyzer software.The third part focuses on the experimental study of monosyllable tone from pitch and length. This part will introduce corpora, method and process, with the Praat speech software analyzing data on base frequency and length and the T value design converting base frequency to five values. In the process of experimental, the paper will extract pitch and length separately making uniformization and picturing table later. Through the experiment, the XI He Dialects` tone-values are: monosyllable tones 4, Yinping 31, Yangping 23, Shangsheng 52, Qusheng 55, which is different from traditional research. In this research, there is no evidence prove that some differences between four monosyllable length, the length difference caused by personally pronunciation.The fourth part focuses on the experimental study of bi-syllable tone from pitch and length. This part will introduce corpora, method and process, and extract pitch and length separately making uniformization and picturing table later. According to this table, this paper will analyze front-back changes within tone category. At the same time, this paper tries to find out the conditions and categories of XI He dialect from the perspective of thpology.12 of 16 two-character-word changes tonescontinuously within 22 liaison patterns. There are two types of tonal alternation,self-alternation and neighbor-controlled alternation. According to the type of alternation, there are the former variant, After variant, All variant.According to the change of tone, there are Simplified type, Dissimilatory and Neutral.The final part is conclusion.
