A Dissertation On Montage And Poetic Expression In The Installation

The word “Montage” comes from Frenchtransliteration,the original intention is the meaning of assemblage and constitution in architecture.And then it amplifies to the edit in filmology. It is used widely in the field of film and literature, but used less in the installation art. I think there are many relevancies between montage and installation art which reflects on organization,splicing,language’s effective transfer and other aspects of materials. As an effective expression,montage provides rich experience and blueprint for the poetic installation. I hope to explore the relevancy between montage and installation art from materials,space,rhythm and interaction in my thesis.
