Chinese language is used by one of five world populations now. It attracted learner from all over the world for its long history and charming characteristic. Because of China’s national strength continuously increased, the international status continuously improved, and the economical Silk Road is opening up, the learning passion of neighboring countries increasing day by day. At the same time, the pace of national strategic development promotes the progress of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. To adapt and develop a powerful platform for teaching Chinese language is duty for the forthcoming graduate of MTCSOL(Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages), therefore, this paper begins with the learning difficulties of Chinese cultural words for Kazakhstan students, and mainly discussed three following aspects: ①exploration of Chinese cultural words;②basic theory and teaching practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language;③suggestion of Chinese cultural words education for Kazakhstan students, the theoretical basis and the teaching method are also summarized. It is hoped that this paper will have some reference and practical value for the future teaching Chinese as a foreign language.1. International environmentKazakhstan is a friendly neighbor of our country, China and Kazakhstan formally established diplomatic relations in 1992. The relationship between the two countries has been steadily developing since the establishment of diplomatic ties. Kazakhstan is China’s second largest trading partner in the CIS countries and it is China’s largest investment destination in the Eurasian region. By 2013, Kazakhstan-China trade volume reached 28.57 billion dollars. With the promotion of the along the way, cooperation between the two countries have expanded to the political, security, economic and trade, energy, transportation and cultural areas. These factors urged Xinjiang to become the Central Asian base for the international promotion of Chinese, more and more Kazakhstan students choose to learn Chinese in Xinjiang of China.2. Language environmentFor the sake of cultural differences, most Kazakhstan students feel difficulties in learning, understanding and using Chinese cultural words. We this problem has close relation with the following aspects:①Language is bonded by its unique culture; language symbols carried rich culture information, and recorded the development process of the ethnic culture.②Vocabulary is the basic element of language, cultural words are the essence of language vocabulary. Cultural words contain abundant information which reflect the material and spiritual culture of a nation.③Foreign students have formed a cultural psychology and habits that closely linked to their mother tongue, but in the process of learning Chinese, they always confront with cultural words that are not consistent with the culture of their mother tongue. Therefore, Chinese cultural words become obstacle and difficulty for Kazakhstan students. As a Chinese teacher, we must take the responsibility of cultural envoy, mater the shortcut of intercultural education.This thesis includes the following six parts, first part is introduction, second part is journals reviewed, third part is theoretical basis of research, fourth part is the research methods used in this thesis, fifth part is analyze and discussion, sixth part is conclusion.In this thesis, the definition of Chinese cultural words has been analyzed, and the most efficient and appropriate teaching method of the Chinese cultural words has been discussed. Hope this paper can help both Chinese teacher and Kazakhstan students in teaching and learning Chinese cultural words.
