Khaled Hosseini, the Afghan American novelist has gained worldwide popularity with his works:The Kite Runner(200S), A thousand Splendid Suns(2007) and The Mountains Echoed(2013). Reasons of his popularity are many, but the most important one is his special experience that he was born in Afghan under its deep cultural influence while working and living in America. In a deeper sense, it is not only a literature phenomenon but also a culture phenomenon that migrant novelist gain recognition with their new and untraditional perspective.Meanwhile, "other" identity is also changing, which is the dilemma of Hosseini’s novel creation. Hosseini is squeezed to a double "subordinate" because he is not a pure Afghanistan nor a pure American, which however makes Hosseini "other" status of the bicultural identity.Due to this "other" status, Hosseini shows great concern and sympathy to the subordinate social group:the suffering Afghanistan nation, the weaker Zahara minority and especially the enduring Afghanistan women. Thus, he has a clear evaluation of his country’s bad customs.Criticism is not the end while sympathy should be rescued. So, in his works, Hosseini describes the uprightness of Afghanistan men, the rebellion of Afghanistan women and the soul return of the exiling group. With effort, He rebuilds an Afghan image full of suffering and hope.In the criticism and reconstruction of his nation, Hosseini has developed "the third place" narrating mode, which brings about special aesthetics. However, in the real life, it will be dominated by power and material, so it’s impossible to stand right in the middle of the east and the west culture with the struggling of both influence. However, it is just the dilemma of the literature creation of Hosseini and migrant novelists from the-third-world countries.
