Research On Gui Fu Calligraphy And Seal Carving

Gui Fu, also called Donghui, was born in Qufu, Shandong Province. Gui Fu is a Chinese famous scholar, linguist, calligrapher of Qing Dynasty. In philology, he was called "the South Duan and the North Gui" with Duan Yucai. Meanwhile, Gui Fu has special writings and high attainments in calligraphy. But specialized aspects of Gui Fu’s calligraphy extremely rare in recent years, only scattered all kinds of calligraphy history, mostly in passing, its evaluation more than a resemblance and lack independent thoughts. There are three main reasons:First, the career is not significant relative to Gui Fu, low status in ancient hierarchical society is naturally difficult to enjoy other daimyo Qianjia School;The second is Gui Fu’s achievements in philology flooded its calligraphy seal on achievement. When we talk about Gui Fu, most people are stuck in their impression on the identity of primary layer;Third, Gui Fu himself refer the calligraphy skills for small, not too keen on the promotion and dissemination of their own calligraphy works.So for Gui Fu’s calligraphy, the urgent need specialized and in-depth research thus my thesis to Gui Fu calligraphy and seal carving as a research object. First to inspect of Gui Fu’s life travel and friends and then analyzes Gui Fu’s calligraphy thinking, and finally through the concrete works picture analysis, aimed at the creation of a fair and objective evaluation of the theoretical achievements Gui Fu and then making this an excellent calligrapher Gui Fu receive due attention and learning.
