| This dissertation covers the development of bronze ware from the Yin and Shang to the Qin and Han dynasties,which has undergone long and tortuous developing progress.Bronze inscriptions began in the middle and late Shang dynasty and were at their peak during the Western Zhou period,revealing a unique calligraphic art feature in terms of characterization,formation,and the composition of construction,with the calligraphy of big-seal script style inscriptions on bronze of Western the Zhou Dynasty as the main subject.This dissertation aims to select the content from A Copy of Poems of the 24 Solar Terms and to give a brief introduction,the author learns from the calligraphy of big-seal script style inscriptions on bronze of the Western Zhou Dynasty and creates works of art after it.The innovation lies in the representation of the epigraphic and bookish feature which flows silently in the long river of calligraphy history and the combination of poetry,calligraphy,and big-seal script enhances the visual aesthetics and humanistic sentiments.The formative aesthetic feeling in the work is based on the motif of four seasons:spring,summer,autumn,and winter.Different senses come after different things,the cycle of seasons is also the samsara of life.The 24 Solar Terms and the calligraphy of inscriptions on bronze from the Western Zhou are parts of traditional Chinese culture,each of us Chinese is working on the propagating and persistence of it tenaciously.The art of calligraphy continues the spirit of traditional culture and has its original character.Always uphold the principle of ‘Being the disciple of the ancient,specializing while broadening horizon’,and establish yourself as different from others,which plays an important role in carrying forward the tradition and inheriting the calligraphy art of big-seal script style. |
