Since the 1980 s, the role of cultural factors in teaching Chinese as a foreign language has been paid great attention in academic circles gradually, experts and scholars also have conducted a discussion about the contents, methods, principles of wide range. National culture is formed in the process of civilization development and shows characteristics of itself.The language of a nation is the product of national culture, and it records the national culture it belongs to. China and the UK are countries with a long history and fantastic culture, both of them play an essential role in the progress of civilization. 2015 is the year of cultural exchange between China and the UK.According to the history of cultural exchange between Chinese and British, it is not hard to find that language and culture is the key point and highlight of cultural exchange between the two countries. In the learning process of Chinese learners who from the UK, the Chinese vocabulary learning could be found through their learning process. As the most flexible part of the language system, vocabulary is also an important part of teaching. Under the influence of the different national culture background, different learners usually meet some difficulties and make errors in the course of understanding and using Chinese words. Thus it can be seen that the introducing of national culture contains an important status in the progress of teaching Chinese vocabulary to British.This paper will research achievements of the predecessors’ by studying at first, putting forward the research emphasis of this paper. On this basis, try to study the relationship between the introduction of national culture and vocabulary from Chinese and English, this part will include the definition of national culture, the importance of introducing national culture during teaching. Finally, explore the content, principles and methods of introducing national culture when teaching Chinese vocabulary to British, and through the analysis of real case about teaching and the summary of the new methods’ effect in the practical teaching, get something useful about introducing Chinese national culture in vocabulary teaching, and try to put forward some reasonable assumptions for Chinese vocabulary teaching in the future.
