With the rapid development of internet and information technology, lots of information not only brings convenience to people’s lives but also gives confusion to people’s choices since 21st century. In the "information explosion" age, people spend a lot of time and energy to screen different requirements information in the face of travel, life, entertainment, shopping, etc. The growing amount of information makes humans’ abilities to accept information in a state of overload, even brings annoyance in people’s choices of information. It has brought a variety of problems to people with thedevelopment of the times, humans have urgent need aboutthe arrangement of complex information. Thus, information transmitter and modern designer must face a problem which to help people quickly and accurately understand the information.This paper studies in the data of information design at home and abroad, and arrange related cases of urban tourism information. This paper takes urban tourism demand as breakthrough point, analyses urban tourism handbook to explore how it can efficiently convey requirements information to tourists, reasonably presents transportation, catering, accommodation, shopping and other information about tourism, and combs complex informationfrom the three principles of cognitive psychology, symbolic vision and logicalthinking, then screens, sort and integrates the related information. In the end, though four methodssuch as the graphic vision semantics, the performance of the emotional context, the performance of multidimensional context and the multi mediapresentation to investigate the presentation of quick and accurate information communication, it’s convenient for tourists to know the required information about tourism.In order to obtain the more intuitive sense of the research, this paper combiningresearch contents and range selects a concrete case of the research, based on tourist city—actual situations of Hangzhou. It discusses designed method of related tourism information, and combining with the characteristics of Hangzhou tourist attractions, selectsTen Scenes of West Lake for practice on designing. It classifies and organizes the relevant information, uses the way of information diagram to conduct targeted designing. It is hoped that graphic design of tourism information can be got more reasonable expression through the research and better service for tourists can be provided.
