Love in college is always romantic and beautiful, falling in love has become a common phenomenon in college. But there are some unhappy elements behind the scenes. Both of the lovers are often come into conflict for some of the trifles in life or study. It is bad for the relationship between each other. There are various reasons can lead to conflict, but different people have different attribution tendencies. When conflict occurs, people will propose attribution about it. Spontaneous reasoning occurs in the process of attribution. This attribution is unconscious, we call it Spontaneous reasoning. Spontaneous reasoning is when people see the behavior of other people in daily life, they will be automatically to reason other people’s characteristics or other people’s situation. Of course, this reasoning is automatic, unconscious, and does not occupy the cognitive resources. This paper is to explore different gender roles of male college students’ different spontaneous reasoning in love conflict by carrying out experiment. The paper consists of two parts:Experiment one: whether or not the male college students have spontaneous reasoning in the love conflicts. This experiment is based on a 2(sentence type:experimental sentences and control sentences)×2(the type of probe: the characteristics of the word and the situation of the word) within subjects design. The dependent variable is reaction time. The experiment shows that compared to the non-implicit or situation sentences, the male college students have longer reaction time in the implicit or situation sentences.Experiment two: different gender roles of female college students’ different spontaneous reasoning in love conflicts. This experiment is based on a 2(sentence type: experimental sentences and control sentences)×2( the type of probe: the characteristics of the word and the situation of the word)×4(gender roles: masculine, feminine, androgyny and undifferentiated) three factors mixed experimental design.Gender role is between-subjects variable, the type of sentences and the type of probes are within subject variables. The dependent variable is reaction time. The experiment shows that compared to the masculine male college students, the feminine male college students have longer reaction time in the implicit sentences. To sum up the results of the above three experiments, the conclusions of this study are:(1)In the love conflict, the male college students have both spontaneous trait inference and spontaneous situational inference.(2)In the love conflict, the feminine male college students are more inclined to have spontaneous trait inference than masculine college students.
