Practice Report On Translation Of An Analysis Of The President’s 2016 Budget In CBO

With the rapid development of Chinese economy, translation is gradually undertaking more and more responsibility. Translation is not just the tool of communication, but also a way of cultural transmission. It can promote understanding among multiple parties and even harmony as well as joint development among nations.The author translated and analyzed the president budget shown on CBO official website.The purpose of this report is to understand the similarities and differences between the American and Chinese economy, learning more about the US budgetary mechanism through translation, and improving translation proficiency.This report is a translation practice report. In the first chapter, the author introduces the translation task, translation principal and the background of translation task, all of which are taken as the basis of translation. Subsequently, in the second chapter, the author introduces the preparatory work before the translation in detail. The preparation of terminology, parallel texts and selection of theoretical knowledge are included.Furthermore, the author specially develops the translation process and plan. The third chapter is a key section of this article. The author elaborates on the specific problems and the corresponding solutions in translating this article, which means this chapter combines theory and practice. The author carries out specific analysis respectively on examples of vocabulary, sentence and discourse; selects three specific cases, uses three major teleology or theory of text categorization to put forward relatively identical expression for specific problems that raised in translation. The fourth chapter is a summary of this paper, it first illustrates the author’s reflection on the task of and related inspirations after the translation of the article, which provides the future translation work with referential solutions and ideas.
