| In the ethnic regions of the southwest China, Miao folk song in the Western Hunan Province(Xiangxi) is long-lasting outstanding for its unique artistic glamour. Cui Cui, an inheritor of Miao folk songs of the eastern Miao dialects, performs Miao songs fantastically with her sweet voice. This paper, from her feature and style in the performance of Miao songs and in combination of survey, interview, performance watching as well as video material analysis, probes into the beauty of voice, melodies, patterns and cultural connotations of Miao folk songs she performed. It also sets a discussion on how Miao folk songs have continuously been evolved without losing the original feature between cultural inheritance and constant cultural erosion. It provides a solid foundation for people to learn about the deep connotation of the current original Miao folk songs in Xiangxi, restores and discloses from different perspectives the authentic nature of art of mysterious Xiangxi Miao songs.
