Family is the crucial environment of growing for individual that play a more important role in our life, especially for the development of our mental and physical. At the beginning of attachment study, much people who have studied thought the attachment was only a bond of emotional connection between the baby and mother. As the development of the study, a lot of people know that parent attachment has much bigger effect for one’s physiological and the psychological health. What’s the more, the attachment will affect one’s individual temperament, personality, coping style, cognitive style, self-esteem and social behavior and so on. The parent attachment and peer attachment is the two sides of the attachment. When we are a small baby, parent attachment is more important than peer attachment. But the thing is very different when adolescence is coming. In the stage of adolescence, with the rapid development of physiological and the awakening of psychological self consciousness, the youth have a very strong desire to get rid of the control of the parents, but they still need to keep a very close emotional relationship with the parents. During this time, peer attachment is much more important than parent attachment. In this study, the research objects is a special group of youth--the secondary vocational students. Through the study,we find that attachment of secondary vocational school students have a big effect on their self-esteem and problem behavior. On the other side, we try to find the attachment mechanism with secondary vocational school Students’ physiological and psychological health,so that we can provide a more scientific basis for the establishment of a more perfect attachment theory. In this study, there are 450 students chosen as the subjects from grade 1 to grade 3 in the secondary vocational school of the Yantai. The data is managed by SPSS 19.0.The results are as follows:(1) The secondary vocational school students’ attachment and self-esteem is positive and healthy in generally, and the problem behaviors are few.(2) The secondary vocational school students’ attachment is higher. On the whole, the quality of attachment to the peers is higher than that of the parents. Parent attachment and peer attachment had a significant positive correlation.(3) There is no sexual difference between peers and their parents. The female students were significantly higher than the male students on the peer attachment scale. From the grade change trend, the development of the quality of parental attachment is relatively flat.(4) Parent attachment and peer attachment have different degrees of predictive power for self-esteem. Among them, mother attachment was the strongest predictor of self-esteem,followed by peer attachment and father attachment.(5) Parent attachment and peer attachment have different effects on different aspects of the problem behavior with secondary vocational school students. Furthermore,self-esteem partly mediate the relationship of attachment and problem behavior. The finding tell us that the relationship between parent attachment and peer attachment with the secondary vocational school students is not competing or independent, and the each of them can not be replaced by the other one,the interaction is produced by a combined effect between parental attachment and peer attachment, the development of young people and self-esteem is one of these influences the occurrence of the intermediary system. This research has important implications for the secondary vocational school students, including consultation of mental health, correction of bad behavior, education of secondary vocational school management, youth developmental guidance and so on.
