The book reflects political and military fights in the Three Kingdoms era, introduces huge historic changes in the era. Romance of the Three Kingdoms has wide influence in the whole world, and has been translated into various versions by many countries, their scholars have made deep researches on the book and achieved extremely rich research results.Romance of the Three Kingdoms has extremley important military position, has been taken as classic military masterpiece by militarists in various dynasties. It has various military strategies and cunning tricks, describes many intelligent heroes,meanwhile, it reflects military system, military equipments and military tactical deployment of troopsof the Three Kingdoms era, these rich ancient military descriptions have important role for descendants to reappear miitary prosperity in the Three Kingdoms era, and provide nencessary basis for their research.The paper takes military terms in original copy and Uighur version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms as research objects, with literature review and analytic induction methods. The paper mainly has several parts as below: The first part introduces current research condition, topic-choice basis, research meaning and research methods of the paper. The second part briefly introduces overall condition of ancient military language in Romance of the Three Kingdoms based on partial ancient military research works. summarizes general classification of ancient military language in Romance of the Three Kingdoms by collecting and sorting ancient military language corpora, divides it into military management, weapons, military system, strategy,military formation and condition. The third part is main part of the paper, which explores and researches Uighur translation of ancient military language in Romance ofthe Three Kingdoms. Firstly, it uses relevant contents of Uighur-Chinese translation theory in ancient military translation research of Romance of the Three Kingdoms,combines translation theory and practice, concludes and analyzes corresponding translation methods and skills in Uighur version. Secondly, it analyzes difference between ancient military cultures of Han and Uighur people, for example, some ancient military weapons do not have corresponding names in Uighur language, it explores translators’ method to eliminate its cultural difference in Uighur version. The fourth part is conclusion, which summarizes contents of the paper. The final part is appendix, collected ancient military language is made into the appendix, which is convenient for reference and checking. The paper aims to provide some reference for further research on Chinese-Uighur translation of ancient military language in future. |
