The Chronicle Of Li Wenzao

Li Wenzao,(1730-1778),word Subo, also Chenwan, in his later years,he was numbered Nan Jian, and was born in Yidu(Qingzhou, Shandong province), he became a Jinshi in Qian Long period(1761),then went to Guilin as “Tong zhi”. He was a famous specialist, bibliographer and bibliophile.He devoted himself on stone research and books printing, and was good at poem and local directory, what’s more,he has tens thousands of volumes of collections, and were checked by himself. He was famous for his honest and hard-working, there was no officials in his ancestors,so, all his family’s honors were come from him. He traveled broadly, and made friends with many famous scholars, such as: Ji Yun, Qian Daxin, Weng Fanggang,Shao Jinhan, Zhou Yongnian, Zhang Jinfang and so on. They all connected closely with letters and talked the stone handwriting books. As a learned scholar, for academic has made a tremendous contribution in the Qing dynasty, but it’s a pity that there was no a detail chronicle to tell his achievement, based on which, the chronicle collected the related data of Li Wenzao and hoped to write a complete chronicle on the basis of the predecessor’s research. The chronicle generalized Li Wenzao’s story on the basis of his works and relevant historical, and detailed told his works, travels and thoughts based on time and his events. At the same time, it also textual researched the errors of the previous researches. The main content of the of this thesis is that:.Firstly, it made a clear framework for Li’s lineage.Secondly, it textual researched his life events.Thirdly, it textual researched his government life and friends-making deeds.Fourthly, it textual researched his poem works.Fifthly, it corrected some documents errors.The chronicle can be divided into the following parts:Introduction: it explained the academic background of the whole QianJia period,as well as the personal profile of the owner of the chronicle.Notes on the use of a book: used to explain the stylistic rules and layout and principles of the chronicle.Extraction: This part mainly introduced Li Wenzao and the main character of his family, in order to have a whole understanding of the family.The text of the chronicle: it is the main body of the paper, it arranged the owner’s life track based on the time, and explained it in detail.References: it listed the detail reference books and papers.Appendix: as supplementary part of the paper, aimed at adding the life events of the owner of the chronicle.Due to the lack of the document literature and my limited academic level, the leakage error is unavoidable, so, it will be improved and enriched in my further study.
