As a renowned scholar and bibliophile during Qian Long perios in Qsing Dynasty,Li Wenzao(1730-1778)made great achievements in the study of Confucian classics,bibliography,epigaphy and local records.His poems and ancient Chinese proses which have been handed down are elegant in style and pleasurable to read.However,his fame has been fading away over the last 100 years after he passed away.A comprehensive and systematic study of Li wenzao’s lifelong accomplishments contributes to the study of academic history of Qsing Dynasty.This article revolves around and is based upon the collection of Li Wenzao’s corpus and the chronicle of his life.For the corpus section,the author is going to collect various versions of Li Wenzao’s corpus handed down and related materials(including his collections of books and local records),from which anecdotal literature as well prefaces and postscripts of ancient books written by him can be collected.All of these materials are going to be collated and categorized into six chapters according to the genres,in the aim of a final version of Li Wenzao’s corpus,which excludes his monographs.The chronicle section follows the principle that a study of an author’s life and historical background plays an essential part in the study of his works.A thick description of Li Wenzao’s life stories is to be presented based on the study of his works,his friends’ works as well as relevant local records,notes and comments on poetry,in order to fully reveal both his life experiences and academic career.This section is one chapter as a whole with events organized chronically.
