This paper comprehensively collected and sorted out the achievements of bronze inscriptions in Taiwan for the first time since 1949 deriving from the preliminary results of major projects of the National Social Science Fund.(project number:NO.13&ZD130)Since Kuomintang retreating to Taiwan in 1949, the study on bronze inscriptions of Shang and Zhou Dynasty has been divided into two camps——Mainland China and Taiwan. Because of the political reasons, there was short of academic Cross-strait communication before 20C 90S. Therefore mainland scholars know little about research achievement by Taiwanese on Bronze Inscriptions of Shang and Zhou Dynasties. With the increase of academic communication, there are necessities to sort and research the achievements on bronze inscriptions of Shang and Zhou Dynasties in Taiwan to promote the study on bronze inscriptions of Shang and Zhou Dynasties.In order to present the general situation on bronze inscriptions study by Taiwanese between 1949 and 2014, this paper introduces and sorts the key findings based on the study characteristics as while as different stages. Furthermore, important Taiwanese scholars’academic careers and their academic points of view are compared and summarized. According to distinctive features, the academic history of bronze inscriptions in Taiwan is divided into three periods:the first period was 1950 s and 70 s during which the foundation of research was strengthened by school teaching and writing books. After the period of accumulation, the study of bronze inscriptions ushered in the golden age of its development from 1970 s and 90 s. New views and works showed up continually based on the predecessors’ research. Since 1990s, with the development of the computer network, third generations of Taiwan scholars utilized information technology in bronze inscriptions and the cross-straits exchanges has entered a new developing period.
