As communications between different cultural units being widened by nowadays’ enhanced globalization, cultural collision and cultural integration has also became more and more quotidian.Since books could help to expand the sphere of vision of people from various cultural backgrounds, reading consequently is very efficient and helpful if one wants to get a deeper understanding of one certain form of culture, which has endowed translation very impressing significance. Among different kinds of translations, literature translation is particularly important,and its importance is increasing nowadays.Literature depicts human life vividly, and names of certain literature novels contain elements which reveal the ethic principle or life view of the culture which gestates those novels and gives those novels names specific meanings. Reader might not fully attain a comprehensive understanding of certain novel names due to the cultural difference, but the name of a novel is of key significance to the whole masterpiece, the name is like its eye, and the name, though concise and contains only several words, delivers very pivotal information to the readers, and plays a unique part to the whole work. Simple might the name of a book seems, nevertheless giving a book an appropriate name is very arduous work, not only because that a good name could draw much attention, but also because that an excellent book name honors the reputation of that literature masterpiece. For this precise reason, title translation has become a very significant branch and translators always pay much attention to title translation.This thesis studies the title translation of approximately 350 Uyghur novels published from1974 to 2015, and the article can be divided into 6 chapters.Chapter 1 explains the purpose, significance as well of the innovating point of the topic chosen by this dissertation and gives introduction of the current research, way of study of relevant subject.Chapter 2 discusses the vocabulary, sentence structure, grammar as well as cultural issues in title translation of literature from Uyghur language to Chinese.Chapter 3 shows lights on elements, mainly cultural elements and translator competence,which might affect the title translation.Chapter 4 illustrates how to analyze the title translation quality by using both macroscopic and microscopic methods and introduces some translating principles and methods.Chapter 5 shows the innovating point of this thesis in Uyghur literature’s title translation to Chinese.Chapter 6 summarizes the whole dissertation and points out the defects of this paper.Through the process of material collecting, reading and composing, the writer of this thesis gaindeeper understanding in Uyghur literature’s title translation, and this field, as far as the writer concerned, possesses tremendous academic values and can contribute a lot to other academic fields like Society or even Science study.Based on the shoulders of previous scholars and under the guidance of translating theories,this paper studies the title translation of Uyghur literature and summarizes certain relevant translating methods, which might as well contributes to the whole translation field.
