Korean Intangible Cultural Heritage (Artistic) Value And Development

Korean Chinese is a cross-border ethnic minority, which breed a lot o f valuable non-material cultural heritage. Non-material cultural heritage is an import ant part of traditional culture which is the root of a culture and the soul of an ethnic. Thus the study on Korean Chinese non-material cultural heritage can help promote the traditional national culture and the ethnical spirit. Therefore, the study on Korean Chinese non-material cultural heritage is of important significance. To study Korean Chinese non-material cultural heritage, the definition of non-materia 1 cultural heritage and relevant basic theories should come first, but the definition of non-material cultural heritage is usually misunderstood and even the scholars disagree with each other. Based on analysis of the origin of how non-material c ultural heritage is defined, the author of this thesis holds the opinion that definin g the non-material cultural heritage under traditional culture in China is more ben eficial to protect non-material cultural heritage and state it, as well as distinguish relevant definitions.Non-material cultural heritage is closely related with an ethnic’s history and social environment. Korean Chinese non-material cultural heritage is not only of vitality and inheritance, which are general characteristics of all the non-mater ial cultural heritage, but also of its own uniqueness. Korean Chinese non-materia 1 cultural heritage is of various forms and rich content, combining the ethnical spi rit and power. Thus it is vital for ethnic unity and ethnic survival. It showed h istorical value, artistic value, cultural value, and moreover social value and educa tional value for the ethnic development. Meanwhile, as a cultural resource, its ec onomical value is of advantage for the society’s economic development. As a co nsequence, a good knowledge of Korean Chinese non-material cultural heritage’s c ontent and value is of great theoretical significance and practical significance.At present, although the protection of Korean Chinese non-material cul rural heritage gained some achievement under impact from globalization, it is still in a dilemma of exploitation or protection. To some extent, it becomes commer cialization out of economic benefit, or becomes a simple performance to win a market, thus it loses the original intention and becomes far away from life. Prot ection of the traditional culture and modernization contradict inevitably. In additi on, the exploitation process often experienced problems such ad a good applicati on but a inferior protection. Then it is urgent to protect and inherit. Therefore, t his thesis analyzed Korean Chinese non-material cultural heritage’s characteristics, values and current situation, and then revealed the problems. It also explored pra ctical ways for exploitation and protection, as well as integral principles. Meanw hile, this thesis intended to explore effective ways for live inheritance of non-ma terial cultural heritage, analyze the feasibility and give effective suggestions. All i n all, the protection of non-material cultural heritage is not expedient, but only ba sed on practice, can it be effective. Consequently, the government should resort t o scientific measures and plans to exploit, protect and inherit non-material cultura 1 heritage by strengthening people’s consciousness.
