In his novels’ creation, Francois Cheng firstly restructured the basic of Three-element Theory——duality. In his novels, he denied the static duality and restructured duality by transforming ways in order to lay the foundation of proposing the Three-element Theory.The ideaistic three-element characteristics in his novels were mainly developed in three ways by seeking for beauty, thinking love and pondering life. In seeking for beauty, he was good at describing the beauty of man’s curve that was related to the beauty of nature’s curve to express the three-element state among sky, earth and human. While describing the beauty of nature, the writer paid attention to the communication, dialog and enjoyment so as to achieve the three-element situation of harmonizing between men and nature and creating the beauty and significance. And in describing the beauty of art, he regarded the three-element situation of " I forget the thing, infinite implication to the highest principle of the art beauty by using art experience that protagonist treated painting, music and poetry. In thinking love, he depended on reliable love of the spirit of relatives, supportive love of the spirit of friends and eternal love of the spirit of lovers to explain that it existed the third dimension of spirit between men and men, which made love break out unlimited and everlasting meaning. In exploring lives, he described the state between alive and dead of human to lead to the third dimension—soul, which added death and life to make up the three-element form. Soul meant the spirit immortality to express his three-element life view.The three-element characteristics of artistic expression in his novels were showed in novel’s characters and structure. Depicting characters, he was fond of using suggestive words to name protagonists to attract readers’imagination. The personalities, fates and names of characters made up the three-element form, among which the person’s name suggestion gave much space in understanding. In characters’growth course, Francois Cheng arranged characters’growth experience of three phases. In the third phase course, characters reached to a higher level to explain the open life state in his Three-element Theory. He was good at portraying the relationship among three people when depicting the persons’ relationship and one of them acted as the regulator, who was a person in the third element to regulate the relationship of other two people to express writer’s opinion. In novel’s structure, according to the spacial perception instead of temporal perception, he expressed the three-element aesthetic psychology of Chinese ancient sky, earth and human, using cycling time and linear time to combine spiral time, which pointed to unlimited movement again in order to show that the three-element theory included the two-element theory, which pointed to unlimited situation.From what is stated above in literary composition and experience of Francois Cheng, his literary creation is in the intersection of culture between China and western countries and innovation zone just like his Three-element Theory. The cultural experience also undergoes the three-element course of three phases and he is in the three-element zone between eastern and western culture.
