Harf and Mark Owen Lombardi. It includes nine global issues concerning globalization and providing both pros and cons of arguments about the same issue. Issue 6 is selected as the author’s translation project. Its topic is "Is the International Community Adequately prepared to Address Global Health pandemics?"This report is finished according to the Functional Equivalence of Eugene Nida. As we all know, Nida is a well-known contemporary translator at home and abroad. The translation strategies are analyzed from three different aspects----semantic translation, lexical translation and syntactic translation. The report includes four parts. The first part is the description of the translation task, which briefly introduces the translation task and the source text. The second part is about the preparations the author managed to make before the actual process of translating, difficulties he encountered with in the translating as well as the translation theory which was employed in the translating activity. The third part is about translation strategies and case studies. In the fourth part he presents a summary, which includes two aspects about the experiences he has gained from project and the limitations of this translating project. |
