Numerous studies have found that bilinguals have advantages in inhibiting irrelevant information, language processing, speech rhythm and speech perception; in attention Switching and behavior monitoring that the cognitive activities in the field of non-verbal. In recent years, studies have shown that bilingual experience can effectively alleviate the elderly cognitive aging. As a cognitive process in the field of non-verbal, mental rotation mainly refers to an individual can rotate the presentation like operating the object as entity. In consideration of the widespread influence of bilingual experience on cognitivethe ability of mental rotation plays an important role in people’s daily life, study and work, in this article, whether there is differences of the ability of mental rotation between two kinds of Chinese-Uyghur bilinguals with different proficiency were studied.According to the proficiency of Uyghur and the level of English, sampling 64 undergraduate students and graduate students who were all right-handed as study subjects in research of mental rotation. Using EyeLink-2000 to record and study the ability of mental rotation of the unskilled bilinguals and skilled bilinguals when they operate the presentation of the Chinese characters, the Uyghur characters and the two-dimensional irregular graphics. The result shows that:1) The reaction time of skilled Chinese-Uyghur bilinguals are less than unskilled Chinese-Uyghur bilinguals in significantly when using Chinese characters, the Uyghur characters and two-dimensional irregular graphics as materials for research, there is a bilingual cognitive advantage effect on rotating presentation in mental.2) The reaction time of male student are less than female in significantly when using Chinese characters, Uyghur characters and two-dimensional irregular graphics as materials for research.3) There is no significant difference between the bilingual with different proficiencyon the indicators about the fixation duration and the saccade amplitude; There is some significant difference between skilled bilingual and unskilled bilingualon the indicators about the number of fixations, the number of saccade and the fixation duration time, the value of these indicators of skilled bilinguals are less than unskilled in significantly.4) There are some significant difference among the different task on reaction time and the data of eye movement that the Eyelink-2000 recorded. When the materials were easy to recognize, the reaction of the participants are significantly less than difficult situation; When the materials were difficult to identify, the participants must pay more efforts on attention and processing when they did the mental rotation.
