Analysis On The Role Of Community Correction Social Workers

Community correction gave priority to ethical responsibility and development of demand and could prevent the correction offenders "cross infection" effectively, reduce social execution cost. The development and promotion of the community correction not only reflected the thought of respect and protect human rights in our constitution but also conformed to the tide and trend of lightening criminal punishment of the era. Community correction social workers are main force of community correction. The further study and reasonable orientation of community correction social workers has direct and profound influence on the establishment of job responsibilities, professional ethics, professional and comprehensive quality system, vocational training plan as well as the clear legal status. To clear what role the social workers in community correction play, what status they are in the whole social work development and how to determine their role are the basis and premise of whether could we set up a high quality, standardized social work professionals in community correction. Which contribute to community correction social workers locate more accurately, to practice professional role better, to play a professional role and provide more professional service.This paper based on the investigation and study of community correction in judicial offices, adopt the method of qualitative research, based on the social role theory, Defined the key subject to participate in community correction-the role performance of community correction social workers in the process of community correction as the research object. Analysed the role of social workers in the specific work process in community correction. The study found that, social workers exist role confusion, role gap, role conflict and role maladjustment phenomenon in the in community correction. Distinguished between community correction social workers and judicial staff, volunteers and psychological consultants. Through analysis on macrostructure and micro reasons lead to these roles imbalance phenomenon found that, community correction lack of legal system, fuzzy role norms; correct environment lack of hardware facilities, humble role environmental; rational punishment lack of cultural atmosphere, reduce the role identity are macro causes of the social work role disorder, role cognition is not clear, role consciousness, lack of role learning and scarce role capacity are microcosmic reasons.Finally, the paper cleared role preparation of social workers in community correction from the professional qualification admittance system, the social worker training mechanism. Cleared the role content orientation of social workers in community correction from case work, group work and middle service. Advocated the role identity orientation of community correction social workers are independent judicial auxiliary, professional service providers, social support integrators and social policy influencers, to clear the role of social workers in community correction behavior and role specification.
