Myanmar Democratic Reform And Its Impacts On Sino-Myanmar Relation

Since the end of Cold War, China and Myanmar has a good relations especially in the period of the West’s diplomatic isolation of Myanmar while Sino-Myanmar tend to be a closer entente relation. However, since the beginning of the democratic reform in 2011, Myanmar domestic has a big change in political and economic, as a consequence that Sino-Myanmar relation was interrupted duo to a series of displeasure incident in Myanmar. The main thesis of this paper is to analysis the profound reasons behind this kind of displeasure incident between China and Myanmar as well as explores the way to avoid dispute. This paper consists of three parts. The first part is to argue the reason, content and the influence of the democratic reform in Myanmar. The second part is to analysis how the reform affects the two country’s relation. The last part is to explore the possibility policy that can avoid dispute and lead to a stable, friendly relation in the future.
