At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the government began to set up a new teaching system, and published the promulgation of "King James in charter school". Biology curriculum began to enter our school classroom. From the end of the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, our country has carried on many times of the education reformation, and published many education documents. In this context, biology textbooks in China has undergone great changes. The column setting plays an important role in the biology textbooks, and it has changed a lot. Study the Changes of the setting on the column, we can have a more clear understanding of the biological textbook in late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, analysis the advantages and slightly, and then absorb essence for we use now.This paper summarizes the current status of domestic and foreign reform and the general situation of the internal and external development in biology textbooks. Based on the review of previous research results, i analyzes its shortcomings, so as to determine the this research significance of the paper. This paper uses the method of historical literature research, comparative method and statistical method,. The research object is mainstream high school biology textbooks in the end of Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and most of them is the textbooks published by Business books tubThis article arranges biological textbook development stages about the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and select the most representative textbook, and then study the situation of the column setting:the form, quantity, type, content analysis, and summarizes the characteristics of the period, and analyzes its reasons. Secondly, this paper discusses plication of columns in the deep connotation, and hope that it can have an understanding of the biology teaching situation, so as to find useful places to now biological textbooks and teaching. At the end of this paper, analyses the influence factors of columns change mainly from the social politics, education thought, culture change.
