The target of vocational high school art teaching is to develop applied type art talent who has founermengtal knowledge, professional skills and design&create ability for society. So based on the principle of promoting students’basic quality,this requires vocational high school art teacher to make student master basic art knowledge on one hand, and on the other hand grasp the basic method and skills to finish designing creative art work. Only when the vocational high school teachers have exellent and overall professional quality, can the quality of art professional education and teaching be promoted.The art teacher is the engineer to construct the soul of art education in vocational high school and their arts quality decides development direction and the art teaching quality.The professional quality enhancement of Baotou vocational high school’s art teacher should begin with what quality arts teacher should possess. Only when we master the present conditions of vocational high school’s art teacher can we offer practical and sincere suggestions about how to promote professional ethics and quality. The education administration section should be functional actively and perfect in-service training system continuously. There are two main accesses:one is that the government should provide art teachers with more training opportunity and strengthen the tracking mechanism and supervision; the other way is to provide art teachers with more independent and option and change the way of resources allocation of art teacher induction training. By strengthening the link between before and after job training, not only do we make teacher get new knowledge and technical ability, but also help teacher understand and mater new education teaching principle and method which to be used in the future teaching activities. Carry out school-enterprise cooperation and optimize the structure of teaching staff. The enhancement of teacher’s professional quality is a long-term systemic process. By summary and analysis and drawing lessons from advanced vocational education experience abroad, we can explore effective method and path of enhancing vocational high school art teacher’s professional quality.
