In the period of our country’s economic transition and social transformation, all kindsof contradictions, vulnerable groups has increased dramatically. Vulnerable groups as theinevitable outcome of the China’s economic transition and social transformation stage, causethe attention of students for vulnerable groups, tackle the problem of vulnerable groupscorrectly has become an important issue during this period. The content of the course is theagent of national social control, as a static text of the corse content, textbook is not only acarrier of knowledge and skills, is also the carrier of social norms and political thought.Chinese as the most important humanities, analyzing Chinese textbooks become the mainway of vulnerable groups of sociological analysis.This study selected Changchun2004edition Chinese textbooks six grade12copies asthe research object which have reviewed by The Teaching Material of Countrywide Middleand Primary School Authorized Committee as the analysis object to analyze the presentcharacteristics and educational value of the vulnerable groups,and attempts to answer thefollowing questions: What are the characteristics of the vulnerable groups? How to present asocial support for vulnerable groups? What qualities of vulnerable groups the textbookspresented? How the vulnerable groups face the life?This study carried out by the following steps. The preface describes the origin,thepurpose, research questions, and the significance of this study. The second part is asynthesis of research. Including the review of textbooks, the review of vulnerable groupsand the review of vulnerable groups’ characters of textbooks. Documents found on thetextbook analysis disadvantaged few characters, we need to make analysis framework ofthis study. The third part introduce the research ideas, the analysis framework, the researchmethods, and defined the vulnerable groups and social support. The fourth,the fifth and thesixth part are text analysis of vulnerable groups’ external image,internal image and socialsupport. The last part proposes summary and recommendations. Text-based analysis found:Changchun edition presents a wide range of uneven distribution in the disadvantaged groups,this directly affects the educated comprehensive understanding of vulnerable groups. Maderecommendations for preparers and users of textbooks, provide material and suggestions forthe coming revise.
