The central area of Hunan is the birthplace of Xiang Army. Since the late Qing Dynasty, Hunan area has trained many excellent talents, which because of the developed private school education in the Ming and Qing dynasties. At the same time, The army’s rise, also to promote the further development of education in central Hunan. After abolishing imperial examination system and founding new schools, in central area of Hunan, modern education mode of education began to transition from traditional education. At the beginning of the establishment of the Republic of China, a large number of private primary school Instead of Hunan private schools, and many occupation schools were founded. At that time, Hunan Education has been a rapid development. After that, over time Hunan emerged a large number of famous educator, such as Luo Zhouzhong、Jiang Xiaoyuan、Chen Runlin、Wu Ganyu, and so on. Under the influence of educational ideas Salvation, these educators ruined house up schools, do one’s utmost, established a number of modern private schools, generated a large number of talents. For example, Tao Kan school、Chun Yuan middle school、Shang Mei middle school, and so on. After the outbreak of war, As China’s rear area, a lot of foreign school moved to the central area of Hunan. So, to a certain extent, education has been developed, at the same time, It made a great contribution to the education system’s improving and personnel training.The thesis will divided into four Chapters to study the educate situation of central area of Hunan during the period of Republic of China.The first section is description about the development situation during the period of Republic of China in central Hunan. Combing the development of Education at various stages in the central area of Hunan. From the four aspects of the school, the number of students, the education system, teachers and the funding sources, the second section explores the specific performance of educational development during the period of Republic of China in central Hunan. By exploring governments at all levels 、 the relocation of the school、regional culture and educator groups, the third segment want to reveal the reason of education development during the period of Republic of China in central Hunan. In the forth Chapter, summarize the impact of the development of education, explore the inadequacies of development, and evaluate the development of education in central Hunan of Republic of China.
