With the development of statistics an d it’s widely use in the field of sports, grasping the necessary statistical skills has become a basic requirement for sports workers. In recent years, both graduate students and some undergraduate in Sports College have widely used the SPSS statistical software in their dissertation, but still need to be widely spread and improved in large extent. During the sports statistical experimental teaching period, combing the statistic and SPSS software to help student to understand sports statistics application better, develop their practical skills and application capabilities.Flash characterize the animation of small size, good compatibility, directly feeling, well interactive, support MP3music and so on. It changed the previous static, boring web forms, which instead became the most popular network multimedia animation. This paper focus on using the SPSS statistical applications software by designing the Flash courseware based on the sports statistics teaching method, which is commonly used in the statistic. In the end evaluate the results, hope to help for spreading statistical sports methods.The main conclusions are as follows:1. Based on SPSS Flash animation demo system to design the courseware and comprehensive instance, which contain text, animation, graphics and other media method to enlarge its content and enliven the images. Through using the multimedia designing tool Macromedia Flash8, it is more intuitive for common statistical method to apply and operate in a relaxed learning environment for students to learn.2. Flash animation case of this paper include:frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, independent sample t test, paired sample test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and two comprehensive case analysis, which almost contain all the statistics content in sports field teaching.3.Survey results show that the majority of sports statistics using SPSS software in teaching, while majority students think the actual operation of the SPSS software have some difficulty. In sports statistics course, most choosing the traditional theory teaching method suing courseware, lack of self-study and improving students’interest. Most students think that adding Flash animation courseware in sports statistics lesson, help to improve the learning interest and learning effects, which there are90.2%think the Flash courseware useful, and for those who think it can improve the learning interest the percentage even up to96%.4.Flash courseware based on the SPSS case, can change the traditional teaching method in sports statistics courses. By using the Flash animation system in this paper, most students will be able to operate the SPSS statistical methods after practicing2-3times.
