Comparative Study About Offensive Skills’ Use Effect Of Guards In Chinese Basketball Team And Their Competitors In Olympics Games

Chinese men’s basketball team participated in the2012’s Olympics Games in London, led by Donewald. In the past ten years, great changes have taken place in our tactical system after YaoMing retired and guards have been playing a more important role. Chinese men’s basketball teams got negative points in the first five group matches and were out, they can’t participate in the following matches. When looking into the performance of Chinese men’s basketball team in the first five groups from games scene and technical statistics after the match, various problems arouse and there’s still a huge gap between our team and competitors. Offensive skills of guards are a salient one, huge differences exist between achieving goals and assists. It’s worthwhile to make a detailed analysis about the performance of our guards without outlet.Based on the spot performance of guards in Chinese men’s basketball team and its competitor team, literature method, expert interviews method, Delphi method, video observation Statistics, Mathematics Statistics, logical analysis method were taken. I analyzed the use of related offensive skills and compared them with specific standards. The following are the results:1. Our guards have advantage in height, but slightly less than competitors in weight with a poor physical confrontation. The age structure is unreasonable, they are relatively young and lacked in world experience.2. They achieved goals mainly from two-point shot, without significant difference compared with others. They are weak in three-point shot. There are differences in shots and hits of three-point shots. Chinese men’s basketball team’s penalty hits rating remains low.3. Chinese men’s basketball team prefer double hands pass before chest to single hand pass, and their passing style is some kind of single. As to passing skills effect, there are significant differences in offensive pass and transitional pass. Assist and offensive pass is more than transitional pass.4. Compared with competitors, Chinese men’s basketball teams receive balls more times and they don’t get rid of the ball. They don’t take individuals to get rid of the ball or took cover shot. After receiving the ball, most of them use transitional pass, which quiet different from competitors.The ability to achieve goals and make breakthroughs is weaker than competitors but more lapses were made.5. The Chinese men’s basketball team defender and competition rivals, breakthrough capacity and breakthrough times than opponents, there is a significant difference between the total breakthrough times and the opponents guard, after the break points, assists and foul ability than competitors, breakthrough error more than rivals.6. Chinese men’s basketball team’s guards have poor awareness in rebound. They are weak in continuous starting ability. Suggestions:1. Our team should have more matches with other powerful basketball teams in the world, especially strengthing communications with powerful teams in Europe.2. We should be established in CBA league and attach more importance to the guards. We also should give more playing time to young players and improve the level of competition.3. Our guards should strengthen three ball shooting training, especially improve the accuracy of three point shooting under the fierce confrontation.4. Guards should possess various passing skills with broaden horizons. They should pass balls resolutely and avoid head down dribbling.5. We should encourage guards to have the courage to break through and dare to break through. More training on physical strength and explosive effort on guards is needed. They should weaken the disadvantage of physical confrontation and use reasonable breakthroughs to create opportunities.6. We should strengthen players’ psychological quality training and improve their self-control ability.
