Youth volunteers take active part in and has become the main part of it. Their vitality and creativity are unmatched, which is able to generate positive energy and make great achievements. However, under the influence of bad social atmosphere, the motivation of college students volunteerism has been fluctuated. In order to get the honor of advanced individual, to join the party or to find a good job, many college students turn the volunteer service into formalism, not based on a variety of high-quality behavior but utilitarian behavior. What they do is to get a certificate or proved. When it come to the cultivation of volunteerism among college students, there are also a lot of problems existing, such as, cramming method of teaching, ignoring individual initiative and creativity, lacking of refinement individualized education and so on. These problems also shows that it is still a long way to go for current China to cultivate the volunteerism of college students used a scale, systemic and professional way. In order to promote college students a better serve to the community and the people, and have a higher moral character, how to cultivate college students volunteerism has become a very important part in our society.This thesis mainly take the university student volunteers from the four minnan universities--Huaqiao University, Quanzhou Normal University, Minan University of Science and Technology, Liming Vocational University as the research subject. The thesis describes several outstanding problems happened in the work of cultivating volunteerism, analyzes the reason of these problems and puts forward the corresponding solutions. The first part of the thesis not only introduces and discusses the origin and status of domestic and international volunteerism, but also describes the connotation and meaning of cultivating college students volunteerism and underlines the positive role of volunteerism in social development; The second part investigates the development of college students volunteer services and existing problems in the four minnan universities. On the basis of the survey results, this part describes the current situation of the four minnan universities’volunteer services and raised problems that existing in the way of cultivating college students volunteerism; The third part analyzes the issues raised by the second part;The fourth part presents a lot of countermeasures which from different aspects including prefect the mechanism for cultivating college students volunteerism, promote college students self-awareness and self-improvement, improve the way of cultivating college students volunteerism and create a nurturing environment and so on.
