With the progress of science and technology, the scope of informatization gets wider andwider, which promote the development of economic,social,etc. Meanwhile the information canbe received and used faster. However, a series of problems also arise, and one of them is thedigital divide. The dual character of information spreading is exposed by society: insufficiencyor sufficiency, unfamiliar or familiar. The digital divide in junior high school between urban andrural areas is one of the problems which arise in this era. The difference exists betweendeveloped areas and poor areas however, involves information spreading, technology getting andapplication. Residents of developed areas in the information "world" have more developmentopportunities compared to those in the poor areas.The purpose of this paper is to investigate aimed at digital divide between urban and ruraljunior high school, and to analyze its factors involved with, and to find the strategy to solve thedigital divide based on the investigation and other research results between urban and ruraljunior high school.The purpose of this paper selected three junior high school as the survey samples,they arethe Second Affiliated Middle School of Shandong Normal University,the department the SecondHigh Middle School of Yuncheng county Heze city Shandong province,the Junior High Schoolof Dairen village Zhangying town Yuncheng county Heze city Shandong province.Twoheadteachers and other ten teachers are asked to fill in a questionnaire and interviewed. At thesame time, two hundred ninth grade students from each school are asked to fill in thequestionnaire too. After analyzing both the questionnaire data and the interview results, we drewthe conclusion that there are five main factors affecting the digital divide between the urban andrural secondary school. They are economic level, the residents’ informationization concepts,information technology infrastructure, education, and the dissemination level of informationtechnology.Based on the analysis of the survey results and the literature research, this paper brought up the countermeasures to bridge the digital divide, including increasing capital investment in ruralschools, improving the income of rural residents, enhancing the informationization concepts ofthe teachers and the rural residents, improving information software and hardware facilities inschools, improving rural informatization facilities, balancing teachers in developed areas andpoor areas, improving the information literacy of rural residents.
