Colleges and universities are the field focused by talent resources, which is thefront-tier position of talent cultivation and technical innovation and the importantconstituent part of our domestic education career. The working initiatives, investmentand endeavors of colleges and universities teachers will affect the teaching quality andscientific research level of colleges and universities. As a kind of approval on the workdevoted by teachers and the return of human resource capital investment, salary alsoequips with encouraging function except for the guarantee function. However, the salarylevel of teachers in colleges and universities of Shanxi Province is lower, which cannotreally reflect the individual value of teachers in colleges and universities, and teachersare quite unsatisfactory with this. Such current situation of salary satisfaction cannotsatisfy the improvement of working initiatives of teachers in colleges and universities,but also lower their working investment and endeavor efforts. Besides, it is also notbeneficial to attract excellent talents for colleges and universities, which is also one ofthe reasons why higher education development in Shanxi Province is relatively laggedbehind. Therefore, improving the salary satisfaction of teachers in Shanxi commonhigher education colleges and universities has made the promoting function on thedevelopment of Shanxi higher education. Therefore, research on influencing factors ofsalary satisfaction of teachers in colleges and universities has also become very urgentand necessary.This research regards Shanxi regular colleges and universities teachers as researchobject, after the system sorting of salary and other related theories and the summary andconclusion of domestic and foreign salary satisfaction, combines the actual salarysystem of colleges and universities teachers on the foundation of PSQ questionnaire anddesigns “Shanxi regular colleges and universities teachers’ salary satisfactionquestionnaire” to conduct random investigation on teachers in seven regular collegesand universities of Shanxi Province. It applies SPSS21.0to make the dealing analysison investigation data. Through factor analysis method, it discovers that Shanxi regularcolleges and universities teachers’ salary satisfaction fits the two dimensional structuremodel, or colleges and universities teachers’ salary satisfaction can be divided into twodimensions of salary level satisfaction and salary management satisfaction. In this paper,the key influencing factor of colleges and universities teachers’ salary satisfaction was found.Significant impact on the various factors were sorted draw conclusions externalequity is the most critical factors affecting Shanxi regular colleges and universitiesteachers’ salary satisfaction by regression analysis.Other factors in descending order ofimportance: internal equity,workload, education level, teaching ages,ages,individualequity,working pressure,difference between actual salary and expected salary perception,engaged major type,working types,job title. In accordance with data analytic results ofthis paper, under the guidance of incentive, salary, human resource and other relatedtheories, it puts forward the measures to improve Shanxi colleges and universitiesteachers’ salary satisfaction: improving the emphasis on colleges and universitiesteachers’ salary, increasing higher education financial expenses, reforming colleges anduniversities teachers’ salary system, improving colleges and universities teachers’performance assessment mechanism, deepening colleges and universities internalmanagement system reform, straightening up colleges and universities developingdirections, focusing on the development of teenager teachers and emphasizing theinvestment on “recessive work” of teachers.
