Secondary vocational education is an important part of national education system and human resource development, Secondary vocational education informationization is the significant support of cultivating high-quality workers and skilled personnel. Secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability is the key to the development of secondary vocational education informationization, therefore, improving secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability is urgent to promote the secondary vocational education informationization.The study of the paper mainly starts from the following four parts: Firstly, with a historical review of related research at home and abroad, we can show the necessity of researching secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability; the second is to analyze secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability; thirdly, we analyze the existing level of the secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability; fourthly, by analyzing the influence factors of secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability, we can put forward the corresponding strategy.The questionnaire on secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability is the key to the research of this paper. In order to explore existing levels of ability in secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application in henan province and its influence factors, The author refers to some questionnaire about experts, consults the <primary and secondary school teachers’ information technology application ability standard(trial)>, designs the questionnaire on secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability of Henan province, and do the exploratory factor analysis, test reliability and validity of pretest questionnaire, with the help of SPSS 20.0.Then the author determines the eight factors of the secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability: the consciousness of information application, information application skills, the preparation of informationization teaching, technical support, the implementation of informationization teaching, the evaluation of informationization teaching, the consciousness of using technology to promote development, the practice of using technology to promote development. The first two factors form technological literacy level. The preparation of informationization teaching and technical support form the Planning and preparation level. The implementation of informationization teaching forms the organization and management level. The evaluation of informationization teaching forms the evaluation and diagnosis level. The first two factors form learning and development level.Studies have shown that the level of the secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability in Henan province is at a level below average. The consciousness of information application and the consciousness of using technology to promote development are strong, but some aspects needs to be improved, especially in information application skills, technical support and the evaluation of informationization teaching. There are many internal and external factors in affecting secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability. Secondary vocational teachers’ age, education level and professional background have a significant impact in secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability. Based on the results of the survey, the author put forward some strategies and suggestions from the aspect of government level, secondary vocational schools and secondary vocational teachers’ personal level, so that we can provide some advice for the cultivation and promotion of secondary vocational teachers’ information technology application ability in Henan province.
