The Current Undergraduates’ Citizen Education Investigation And Research Of Present Situation

With the accelerating development of China’s modernization process, the continuous improvement of the market economy system, the deepening of the political democratization, cultivating to adapt to the era of the development of the modern qualified citizen is the objective requirement of the sustainable development of the country in the future. Civic education is an effective way to cultivate qualified citizen, is the foundation for the development of the socialist modernization construction in our country. College students are the core of human resources in our country, is the main force of China’s modernization drive. Achieving the goal of modernization depends on whether has a batch of college students’ citizen who have the modern citizen consciousness, knowledge and skills. however, due to historical and practical reasons, Chinese university has not to conduct a formal, systematic citizen education, The university moral education and ideological and political education focused on political theory and moral education of college students, and there is no clear requirements of cultivating high-quality citizens.This study based on the evolution of the college students’ citizen education in our country, using the method of empirical investigation, investigating five universities’ civil education present situation of human province.discovered the problems are as follows: the lack of the participation, rights and obligations, the rule of law, and good faith consciousness of college students; meanwhile, theory divorced from practice of college students’ citizen education; besides, the lack of establishing the system of citizen education in the universities. To analyse these problems, there are three part reason that the concrete from historical and traditional culture, family and social environment, the university itself. Finally, the researchers on college students’ citizen education put forward the following improvements: System construction as guarantee, guarantee the overall implementation of the citizen education, based on the system of civic education in colleges and universities system, enhance citizens’ students’ overall quality, which is based on harmonious campus atmosphere, improve college students’ citizen consciousness, to social practice as the carrier, improve the ability of college students’ citizen participation in practice.
