With the development of the policy of reforming and opening up, the progress of the construction in xinjiang and other parts of western China, and the implementation of the strategy of “One Belt and One Road”, southern xinjiang uygur society is in the midst of a dramatic social transition, facing unprecedented openness. Relatively isolated and conservative Uighur culture and the traditional marriage ethics in southern xinjiang are facing huge cultural impact. Because of the special geopolitical characteristics and the national cultural features, the daily lives of uygur people in southern xinjiang is now encountering a full range of cultural penetration by extremism of religion. With the additional effects of traditional religious culture, a series of anomie problems arise such as early marriage, extramarital affairs, illegal marriage and domestic violence, which not only exerts detrimental effects to couples both physically and mentally, but also results in the high divorce rate and instability in marriage. It also becomes one of the most important factors that affect the social harmony and stability in southern xinjiang.Current scholars have conducted studies mainly from the perspective of sociology and ethics and research of uygur marriage ethics focus more on the general analysis of the manifestation and the underlying reasons of the high divorce rate. However, the specialized study of moral anomie problems is still rare. This dissertation uses the social gender as the perspective and tools for analysis, at the same time observes, analyzes, reflects and criticizes the roles of both genders in family, which exerts theoretical and practical significance in exploring the re-construction of the uygur marriage ethics in southern xinjiang.As a new perspective and tool to observe and analyze social phenomenon, social gender regards men, women and gender as interacting structures that are closely related to the economy, politics and cultures, and it is the reflection and results of social power. This kind of research perspective opens up a new way of thinking and expands the new horizon of research in uygur marriage ethics in southern xinjiang. Therefore, from a perspective of social gender, this paper combines theory with practice and analyzes the uygur marriage ethics in southern xinjiang under the regulation of religious and traditional culture from both subjective and objective aspects. Moreover, it also investigates the reason why uygur marriage ethics is undergoing anomie in southern xinjiang and explores the way of reconstruction, which is innovative.This article is divided into five parts. The first part is introduction, which mainly elaborates the significance of this selected topic, the research status, research methods, the difficulties and the innovation points in this paper. The second part discusses the relatedtheory of social gender as a view of research. The third part illustrates the evolution of uygur marriage ethics in southern xinjiang from the perspective of social gender. The fourth part analyzes the manifestation and the causes of anomie faced by uygur marriage ethics in southern xinjiang. The fifth part puts forward the suggestions for the reconstruction of uygur marriage ethics in southern xinjiang in the new coming period.
