With the development of the reform of latest elementary education curriculum in China, it posed new demands and challenges for teachers. Obviously, in order to adapt to the new curriculum environment, meet the requirements of the new curriculum, reflective teaching is a good way. However, the teachers’ teaching methods and teaching experience can not meet the current situation of teaching, so we need to learn teaching reflection. Teachers need to learn reflective teaching and try their best to change the teaching concept and teachers’ role. Therefore, the development of teachers’ ability to reflect has become an important issue of the education reform.This thesis is talking about the reflective teaching through the following aspects: in the first part is on the literature review of reflective teaching theories, and then the writer aims to make a further study on the real condition of reflective teaching applied in Wudu District Longnan City.Through paper answers and interviews from the teacher there. Meanwhile, the writer also studies the elements which influence reflective teaching. The study shows: firstly, most of the teachers there have a good knowledge of reflective teaching, but some of the teachers still need to correct understanding on reflective teaching. Some of the teachers understand the reflective teaching well but they don’t practice it well. Usually the teachers can practice reflective teaching by fulfilling the teaching value, reaching the teaching aims and covering the teaching content as well as improving the teaching atmosphere. But still some teachers practice the reflective teaching in an old and conservative way which nearly no innovation and creation. Some of the teacher even don’t know the timing of reflective teaching or just to practice reflective teaching before and after teaching activities, and there is no reflective teaching methods applied in the progress of teaching. Secondly, there are two aspects influence the learning and practicing reflective teaching among the middle school teachers. On the one hand, the subjective elements such as the teaching attitude,the knowledge of reflective teaching and also the application of reflective teaching strategies by the middle school teachers; on the other hand, the objective elements such as whether the atmosphere of applying reflective teaching constructed by school satisfying the teachers to practice and learn reflective teaching. Last one is that all the teachers should try to develop a sense of reflective teaching by all means. All the teachers should learn and practice the reflective teaching though theoretical knowledge. And to improve the ability of reflective teaching by applying the teaching strategies. The school should also try to create a good environment which is convenient for reflective teaching by the teachers through making rules and enhancing teacher training programs.This study aims to provide a theoretical reference for the improvement of teaching quality and the teacher development by investigating and interviewing the middle school teachers, so that to promote the reflective teaching in middle school.
