Study On The Post-modernism Ideological Trend Of The Impact On The Values Of Contemporary Chinese College Students

Postmodernism is a pan-cultural trend in the highly developed western capitalist society, which reflects the process of modernization in western capitalist countries, but also criticized the modern society, and it’s major characters are anti center, anti-authority, criticism and fragmentation,ect.The spread of this social trend has brought positive and negative influences to the values of contemporary Chinese college students. The positive effects are college students’ self consciousness and diversification of thinking mode; and the negative effects includes self-awareness expansion, ambiguous political stand, the lack of ethical concept and overflow of pragmatism. The causes of these negative effects mainly from social, schools and individuals. Among the social reasons that cause the negative effects, deepening of reform and the reform and opening-up policy, the development of market economy and influence from the peer group are the most significant ones; besides, reasons from schools are the formalization of college students value education, the lack of practical education and unreasonable layout of school curriculum structure and content; at last, the students themselves have strong ability to absorb the postmodernism thoughts but weak discrimination ability.Eliminating and resolving the negative influences of Postmodernism to the values of college students, means should be diversified and methods should be more flexible, educators and social forces should be more active. Therefore, first of all, we should mobilize all social forces and creat a good social environment, building favorable condition to spread postmodernism. Especially, we should optimize the positive impact of public opinion environment and joint the power of families and peer group. Next, optimizing educational atmosphere in schools and weakening the negative influence of post modernism on the values of college students, focus is on building the good educational environment both theoretically and practically, enhancing the effectiveness of Ideological and political education.At least not the last, we can improve college students’ own immunity and learn to receive criticially Postmodernism. The critical measures are improving the proportion of Marx’s dialectics learning in college education and adhering to the guidance of the socialist core value system. Thus,we could make the best use of Postmodernism to dedicate to our socialist modernization more effective.
