The book, General Senior High School Mathematics Curriculumn Standard, suggests learning activities of students in math class should not be limited to receive, memorize, imitate and practice. It also proposes some learning methods such as independent exploration, hands-on involvement, cooperation and communication and so on. However, in real teaching, teachers don’t develop students’ subjective initiative to achieve educational aims of deep teaching, but still use teaching methods such as cramming. Thereforce, how to carry out inquiry teaching in math class of senior high is for a lot of math educators a significant project.This project applies documentary research method, questionnaire method, observation and interview method and case study method to research and analy the inquiry teaching of high shool function. At the same time, it also combines observation and consideration of the author during teaching work.This paper, assisted by questionnaire survey, analies the main reasons of existent problems of inquiry teaching in funtions of senior high at present and puts forward basic strategies of functions of senior high based on real teaching. The basic mode of inquriy teaching comes from a case study method by three examples, which improves the efficiency of math class of senior high a lot.Three aims are achieved by this project. First, math eductors can pay more attention to inquiry teaching in class. Second, students can restore interest in math from passive learning to active learning. Third, this project is helpful for future math teaching.This paper can provide inquiry teaching of senior high math in class with valuable references. At the same time, it makes good exploration of how to deal with fuctions of senior high for students leisurely.
