China’s employment problem of elite athletes is a special issue in China’s employment area, during the planned economy period, athletes rely on employment policy to solve this problem. With the planned economy gradually translate into a market economy with socialist characteristics, market gradually replace the planned resettlement. Employment of elite athletes is constantly facing new problems, although in the "Twelve-Five" period, government departments constantly strengthen and improve the athletes’support. However, our elite athletes’employment problem still has not been solved, the situation remains critical. At present, we are facing the totally new environment:further development of fitness for all, the good situation of the development of the sports industry and the successful apply of Zhangjiakou Olympic, all this provide a broader market spaces and development potential for the employment of elite athletes, and solve the employment problem of elite athletes have become players’top priority of social security. Research of this thesis is based on this new situation and use documents, interviews, questionnaires, statistics and logic analysis for in-depth research. Discusses the national and local work history of elite athletes with the employment situation of excellent athletes in Shandong province, try to analysis the major problems in the employment status of elite athletes of Shandong. On the basis of economic theory, describes the nature of the employment problem of elite athletes, and proposed countermeasures and suggestions to solve the problem of employment of elite athletes in order to provide empirical support for national policy makers, to further improve the employment protection of elite athletes.The main conclusions of the thesis are as follows:1. The sports management directors coaches and athletes of Shandong Province generally have a low level of understandingof the policies and regulations on employment issues.2. Employment security work in Shandong Province performing good, el ite athletes still take the principle of resettlement policy and market placement in both way.3. To slove the problem between market demand and athletes quality,we need to improve the quality of athletes to meet the market demand.4. There are conflicts between learning and training in elite athletes in shandong.5. Call for educational rating system reform in sports area, focuse on the comprehensive quality of athletes.6. The main factors influencing the Shandong athlete job placement are self development, leadership attention, policies and regulations, economic income, and employment conception, employment information, family factors are the secondary factors influencing the employment problem of elite athletes in shandong.
