With the changing environment of information, people’s demand of and dependency on information has reached an unprecedented degree. The Academic Library is an important information center, facing the current information environment and the new situation of knowledge innovation. The Academic Library focuses on how to collect, compile and provide information, and actively integrate into the user’s environment. Providing learning, teaching, research, and other services for users, and helping users make the best use of information has become a top priority for the academic library in new era. The "Subject Service" now exists in such an environment. However, With a number of new disciplines and interdisciplinary emerging, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research activities are increasing day by day, these new areas of research beyond the traditional discipline division system, thus, the new demands for services also beyond the traditional structure of subject knowledge, it’s hard for subject specialist to provide appropriate subject services in accordance with the existing classification system, users’ demand for special fields also growing day by day, one library cannot fully operate it anymore, subject service is a knowledge-intensive, high-tech personalization, automation and in-depth information service, now the supply and demand contradiction come out from time to time, if we want to continue carry out the subject service and make the service further, it must be based on the existing service model and introducing the collaborative mechanisms on subject service.Collaborative Subject Services usually means the subject librarian collaborated with other members of librarians, faculty and teachers, which aims to improve the quality and level of service discipline. It offers subject services by collecting subject information, organizational analysis and restructuring, based on the conduct of multi-directional, multi-channel, multi-level and multi-form cooperation. According to user’s specific requirements and multidisciplinary environments, they offer the innovative deep service by providing knowledge application and other help for users.Now many academic libraries are carrying out their subject services, this paper status of collaborative subject service contrastive some domestic and foreign university libraries to find out their characteristics and the gap between the two. The author selected 28 institutions in and out of China. By doing a survey among these libraries and logging in to the homepage of academic library allows one to compare vertical and horizontal analysis, learn lessons, identify weaknesses, and put forward the corresponding improvement measures targeted so that each university library, according to their actual situation, can learn from the advanced experience to further enhance their own subject service. Meanwhile, the paper also cited several disciplinary analyses of the current service model and their respective characteristics, and on the basis of the existing team based on subject librarian model, further proposed collaborative interlibrary cooperation in the new ideas, and broadening of the library subject service channels.Currently, people usually pay more attention on collaborative relationship within the team members when they do research on collaborative subject service. They seldom addressed the collaborative relationship with people or institutions outside of the library personnel or other levels. This thesis intends to fully explore the collaborative subject service mode among the academic libraries.
