On the occasion of the 20 th anniversity of the implementation of the basic National Policy of “Gender Equality”, the research on “Gender Consciousness of Female Reporters” is a reporter’s study from the perspective of social gender, the aim of which is to appeal to the female reporters to examine and reflect on their own gender concepts.On the one hand, under the current media environment, the number of women engaged in the work of reporter is constantly improving. Why is this job loved by more and more women? Does the change of gender ratio influence the dominant position of male discourse right in the media work? Most of the female reporters showed obvious professional features in their marriage, daily life, career and independent thinking, and they desperately want to seek independent self spirit as well as double recognition of career and family. Then, under the pressures of the work and life, how can they better coordination? And how to play the real role and value of female reporters?On the other hand, due to the nature of the work and work intensity, female reporters are facing many problems in the workplace or family, it just represent the grim reality which Chinese professional women faced. As the generator and communicator of ideological culture, will the gender concepts of female reporters affect other women? Will the gender concepts relate to the harmonious development of gender equality and the progress of social spiritual civilization? These are all the questions that the author wants to explore.On the basis of investigations and interviews of female reporters in Changchun City, research in this thesis involved were mainly divided into the features, the misinterpretation, the self-awareness and the flowing deformation of gender consciousness of female reporters. Combined with previous studies and interviews, in the First Chapter, the author combed out gender roles of female reporters according to their professional characteristics and social gender concepts. And the main factors thatinfluence gender consciousness of female reporters in Changchun city were analyzed.Chapter Two, the author discussed gender misinterpretation of female reporters, their male colleagues and leaders from “gender stereotypes”, “collective unconscious” and“ the ladies being watched” three angles. The third Chapter, the author analyzed the arousal of gender consciousness of female reporters around the characteristics of professional diversity and dual-gender role. Also the expression of gender consciousness in daily works of female reporters was discussed with the interview in this part. Chapter Four, the author made an investigation on the change of gender consciousness of female reporters in Changchun city from the perspective of two evolution change of personal factors and social factors. According to the above study,the author summarized the deficiencies in the research, and foreshadowed for the future research.In the course of this study, the author found that there still existed in varying degrees of awareness of gender distortions, and all kinds of social problems caused by gender chould not be ignored; many female reporters still held the traditional concepts of gender; some female reporters ignore the objective existence and avoid the natural differences of gender between men and women; many female reporters are less sensitive to gender, and they can not be timely to identify the blind spots and misunderstandings of gender bias or discrimination. The author’s research is based on the investigation of female journalists in Changchun city, however, small scale and regional studies often reflect the reality of the environment. In optimizing gender consciousness of female reporters, there is still a long way to go.
