Turpan-Hami Basin is Located in the eastern part of Xinjiang, which has the same crystalline basement and a similar tectonic evolution with Junggar Basin. Plenty of oil and gas resources were found in the Carboniferous-Permian oil source based petroleum systems in Junggar Basin. This is of great significance to re-recognize the Permian source rocks in Turpan-Hami Basin. Predecessors do a lot of research to Tuha basin in stratigraphic division, sedimentary facies and hydrocarbon source rocks aspects.however, the research in the past was concentrated to a large extent in the shallow layers, there was little research of the source rocks in the deep layers.Based on petroleum geology, sequence stratigraphy and sedimentology theoretical methods, combined with regional geological data, drilling and logging data, magnetic data and outcrop data. The paper do the fine inteipretation of seismic data in the study area. Combination of sequence stratigraphy and sedimentary facies research, the carboniferous-Permian hydrocarbon source rocks of tuha basin is forecasted.On the basis of the seismic data interpretation, drilling and well logging and seismic sequence interface recognition, carboniferous-Permian stratigraphic sequence of Turpan-Hami basin is divided and contrasted, and the sequence stratigraphic framework of area is established. Through Seismic phase drilling phase and phase analysis of outcrops, combining regional sedimentary background, the Turpan-Hami Basin Carboniferous-Permian sedimentary facies types and their main features summarized, the plane distribution of sedimentary facies elaborated. On the base of the above studies, By seismic attributes, gravity and magnetic, drilling, outcrop characteristics, hydrocarbon source rocks characteristics are analyzed in Turpan-Hami Basin, Turpan-Hami basin Carboniferous-Permian source rocks thickness contour map is drawn. Combining drilling, outcrop data,Carboniferous-Permian source rocks's abundance of organic matter, organic matter type and maturity characteristics are analyzed, and ultimately Turpan-Hami Basin oil generation potential source rocks predictions.is maked.Results show that:(1) Turpan-Hami Basin Carboniferous-Permian can be divided into 1 first-order sequence,3 second-order sequencesand 5 third-order sequences.(2) The carboniferous sedimentary facies are mainly composed of littoral facies, locally developed marine delta, deep sea-bathyal facies and tidal platform facies. Lower Permian is mainly composed of volcanic facies, middle Permian is continental sedimentary, mainly composed of shore shallow lake and deep lake-semi-deep lake facies.(3) Turpan-Hami Basin Carboniferous-Permian source rocks are mainly developed in the lower Carboniferous Yamansu group, Upper Carboniferous Qijiagou, Aoertu group and the middle Permian Ta Erlang group, Most organic abundance achieve better degree, has great potential of oil generation.
