The study of the reservoir architecture and effective sand body distribution is the foundation and the Key to efficiently develop the tight sandstone gas reservoir.It is also the hotspot and difficulty in the reservoir description.Sulige gas field is a typical tight sandstone gas reservoir with "low permeability,low pressure,low abundance" and it is difficult to characterize reservoir.This paper present the comprehensive analysis method of the reservoir architecture in braided river.First of all,the braided river reservoir geological library is build based on the data of modern braided river deposits,field outcrops,water tank simulation along with the previous studies.Secondly,the fine characterization of dense well pattern is developed.Reservoir architecture characterization is discussed in three levels,which is the single channel,the channel bar and the accretion bodies inside the channel bar.Finally,the size of the single sand body and the distribution characteristics is quantitatively described by the dynamic and static data.The reservoir in the Sulige gas field is thin,deep,and has poor connectivity and strong heterogeneity,so it exists the problem of low individual well producing rate as well as the great development difficulties.This paper shows that the single sand body in tight sandstone gas reservoir,Sulige gas field,is about 2 to 5 meters thin,200 to 800 meters long and 200 to 500 meters wide,based on the dynamic data,such as the inter-well interference and the pressure testing data.The study reveals the effect of the different reservoir architecture on the distribution characteristics and connectivity of the individual sand body.This acknowledgment of reservoir architecture in the Sulige gas field plays an important role in the well pattern improvement and the well deployment,which has the significant meaning of enhancing the gas recovery.The newly comprehensive approach to characterize reservoir architecture in the paper will be useful to study the similar type of tight sandstone gas reservoir in the world.
