| In recent years,the development of 3S technology has become mature bit by bit.It's widely used in the military,civilian areas such as intelligence collection,navigation,land and resources survey and management and other aspects.3S technology is a significance vehicle for scientific investigation,it has the characteristics of digitized and informatization,making it of the preferred way of current large-scale investigation and regional survey.The study of the application of 3S technology in the second national census of place names can greatly improve the efficiency of work and the digitization process of place names.The article takes the second national survey of geographical names as the starting point,takes Hefei of Anhui province as the research demonstration plot,collects and organizes the basic information related to the spatial information and non-spatial information of Hefei's place names.Based on satellite imagery,handheld GPS,geographic information system and other technical means,this paper uses Erdas Imagine,Arc GIS and other software to collect and sort out the place names and other information of Hefei City,and provide new ideas for the survey of geographical names.Based on the analysis of the collected geographical names data,to establish a database of toponym using ArcGIS Diagrammer.The article's major research findings are as below :(1)Collecting and organizing the basic material related to the information of geographical names in Hefei city;(2)Completing data processing of the remote sensing image and integration of basic geographic information material to provide a base map for the work of geographical names;(3)Using technical means such as computer and 3S technology and so on to collect and process place names data,and forming Hefei geographical names comprehensive data set which provide a basic data for the construction of toponym database system;(4)Completing the design of the toponymic database,through the analysis of toponymic data. |
